My fabulous friend Jessica is a closet interior decorator. Yes, she's a lawyer, but she has this fantastic way of putting things together and making them vundebar!

Today, she dedicated her blog to our project and I was completely flattered! She has found this super cool site - Polyvore - where you can find items online and can pair them together virtually to see if it works. She put the items together below as ideas for our living room decor.

What is also amazing is how images can make you think of certain things in life. As I was scanning through my pics, this image makes me think of today. Life is short, don't stress and appreciate good friends and family.

dining room table?

After another successful trip to Ikea this weekend, Kaaaaaye and I found the potential table for our minuscule dining area. We need something narrow and I'm pretty much obsessed with chocolate colored woodwork.

It's a reasonably priced table with TWO leafs (leaves?). Perfect for 2, ready for 4 and can accommodate up to 8. Perfect for our space. It's definitely on the "potential buy" list.

I also found some stools for our island! The ultimate test was comfort and it was totes comfortable. It's too tall, but Adam can cut a few inches off the legs, right?

Ah... this is the fun stuff.

Can't wait to furnish!

As we continue to get the house put together again, I finally feel like we can start thinking about furnishings! I've decided to wait it out in a sense (e.g. pay for drywall and tile first), live there for a bit and then get some inspiration for furniture, etc. In the meantime, it doesn't hurt to look!

It's very exciting to put together a house because your style starts to shine through and Adam and I have decided that we want clean, modern, but not cold. A few great places to look for such items include West Elm, CB2 and Ikea.

Storage is tight in our little Vic Village condo/house/townhouse, so we're always looking for wonderful pieces with room for stuff! I love this bench, not too "country" but could fit lots of warm blankies and such.

In our "dining" area - I put dining in quotation marks because the first floor is going to all run together - we have some great space for a buffet and what is better than a buffet fit for wine???
